Greetings, knitters! Was knitting in my doc's waiting room today & the receptionist made the comment that the Fun Fur scarf I was working on matched my clothes! The nurse said it matched my wheelchair, too! I hadn't even noticed! Guess I'm slow on the uptake today!

I get lots of knitting done in waiting rooms (doctor's office, dentist's office, etc.) ... the comment I hear most often is, "Oh, look, she's crocheting." What a great way to start a conversation!

Donna, with intentions always bigger than her available time. (OkieDokieKnitter on Ravelry)

Do you know what the best thing about knitting in public is? It that knitting will get strange people to say hello that who would never had said hello if you weren't knitting. I have met and had people who said that the knit lady.It always get a smile and a laugh from my kids if they are with me. Donna

Yes I like it when people notice. It is a real ice breaker. The thing is they often ask you to knit something for them!! Which is OK of course.

I knit a lot when I am commuting, so occosionally I get remarks. Most of them are positive (nice wool, item, have you knit that as well and so on), some are odd (I knit as Mrs Marple, knitting on the bus is very dangerous) and only once negative (knitting was a waste of time, better to read a book....). In my experience, the best comments come from children who enquire very curious about what I am doing, what it is going to be and so on.

I do think it is nice in general too!
