Hi
I have a few sweater pictures and i am looking fo find the magazines or catalogs they were taken from.
Now i have been told that these sweater models match the 1975 to 1983 era, and may come from Phildar, Pingouin, Scheepjes, Vogue, Neveda and even 101 sweaters.
I'm sure some of you have vintage knitting catalogs, could you please check to see if you have them, if you do and you don't want to sell them at least let me know of the magazine name, number and year.

P.S.I am also looking at magazines or catalogs of the same era that has the same turtleneck style or any big turtleneck pre 1983. |

Mmmm, let me just stop what I'm doing and go find 10 or 15 of those 30 year old magazines and go through them, jotting down all the pertinent information. Why, you ask? I have no idea.

Yes i know what you mean, it is time consuming, but if you do find them and want to sell them, i'm ready to pay a very good price for them  |

Have you already had the sweater patterns identified?
If not, is it possible to post photographs here in this thread?
Do you by any chance happen to know if your items were marketed in KITS, or were in actual Pattern Booklets or were featured in 1970s knitting magazines?

AND..... to anyone who happens to open this messagethread, is there really any reason to hang onto all those 1960s/1970s knitting magazines???
A friend gave me a huge stash of them, and after removing any of the Aran patterns I'd decided to pack them up and donate them ..... what say you?
Are magazines of that era a useful "TRADE" item on knitting chatboards???

Well, Molly, I have several that were my MIL's and use them to design new sweaters. A little bit of this and a little bit of that.
The one pattern I would love to have is just the plain old cardigan that Mr. Rogers used to wear, the one pattern his mom used.

| I guess we hang on to them in the event someone is looking for a pattern and maybe it is in the collection of patterns that one can amass over a time. I inherited my mom's old books, also got some from an elderly lady who was cleaning out her house and also got a number of old patterns from someone on this forum that offered them for the price of postage. So that's probably why some of us keep them, to offer them to others eventually and/or look for particular patterns for a member. :) |
