It seems to me Tunisian crochet is beginning to be part of a swell of renewed interest in crochet. I have been spending much of the pst year learning to crochet in the simplest terms and am intrigued by this old born-again technique. It looks like the marriage of the best of knitting and crochet. My questions are this: 1. Has anyone else been newly interested in this old, old craft 2. Do I really need to buy a special T-hook? Why not a rather long crochet hook with a stopper on the end?
I'm no expert on Tunisian, but I can tell you that it all depends on the amount of sts you want the hook to hold. Some, including myself, use hooks attached to cables that hold the sts with less stress on the hands. I use my Denise crochet interchangeable hooks. If you do enough, it's worth the cost.
