Here is what you do. Cut out all of the best bits. Get a sheet of A4 and stick them to both sides. Then get one of them juicy big fat folders with a wad of A4 plastic inserts in them. Put all of your of your sheets in there in some sort of order. Then put an index in the front. And there you have it. You own neat and tidy reference folder, that you can add to with ease and the pages wont get as danaged by being in the plastic sleeves

Cut up a Spin-Off Magazine??? That's sacrilege! And how can I be sure that in 5 years time I won't look for the article that I find "not interesting enough to keep" today? In theory it's a nice idea, and for horse magazines I've even done it - 12 issues per year do pile up - but there's only 4 issues of Spin-Off per year, and for me there's not enough unintersting stuff in there to bother sorting.
By the way, has the winter Spin-Off come out yet? I haven't received it :-(

No, I wouldn't cut up my Spin-Off either, nor my IKs either. I prefer the idea of photocopying the index and keeping those in a reference folder instead. Something I must do soon!

Actually I keep an online copy of the IK indexes, the one with a picture of each project and the yarn requirements like this one. That way, I have a picture (which speaks to me more than the name of the pattern) as well as an idea of gauge :)
Klara, I bought a copy of the winter Spin-Off at a bookstore the week of Christmas so it is definitely out. |

| Minh, that is an excellent idea. Sometimes I don't want to cut up magazines because there is good stuff on the reverse side of a page. But if they are taking over my space, then I'll do it. |

Actually, that`s not a bad idea. Having an Index for all of the magazines. But then again, think of all the space they take up and all of the adverts in all the magazines that are no good. There is always ways of saving space and not having to hunt for that magazine because you indexed it and forgot to put it back in the right place and then having to spend days looking for it. Or if someone else borrows it and dont bring it back, then what ?

Yes it did, but I bought mine in the local bookstore. (Northeastern US).

I did this with the Knitters and some other mags....never the spinoffs or IKs though.

The magazines you dont want to cut up, you could always put them in a folder on there own. Atleast they will be neat and tidy and les likely to get ruined.
