Report from the
Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival
West Friendship, MD
May 7-8, 2011
The 2011 fiber festival season is off to an excellent start. Last weekend at the Howard County Fairgrounds, tens of thousands of people converged for the 38th annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.
It's an exercise in sensory overwhelm, with sheep and fibers and yarns—and people—as far as the eye can see. For those who have yet to experience the festival in person, or perhaps couldn't make it this year, I've condensed the entire weekend into a seven-minute video. It's as close to smell-o-vision as I can get without jumping through your screen and handing you a skein of yarn. Enjoy!
