Knitter's Review May 1, 2003 Knitters certainly understand the fine nuances of different materials. Cotton is easily distinguishable from wool, while alpaca has a decidedly different touch than angora. Even among wool types we can feel differences. The same is true for needles, whose composition runs the gamut from aluminum to plastic, milk protein, birch, and bamboo. Following up on last week's review of plastic interchangeable needles, we turn the tables to examine the simplest of the simple: bamboo single-pointed straight needles.
