Needle Profile:
Holz & Stein Ebony Double-Pointed Needles

Holz & Stein

Note: Since this review was published in 2001, these needles are now marketed as Susanne's and distributed by Classic Elite Yarns.

Holding these luscious needles is comparable to touching a wooden clarinet or oboe -- something I look upon fondly because my father is a professional oboist.

The wood is smooth and strong, with less flexibility than birch or rosewood.

The needles have an abbreviated taper and sharp tip, perfect for any detail work.

A note about the 4" needles: Depending on your hand size and how you hold the needles, they may poke the inside of your palm and cause irritation.
