I made this for Amanda/Atavistic using 2,400 yards of NatureSpun fingering. The center panel is from Traditional Knitted Lace Shawls, Tile Stitch, and the borders and lace edging are from Sharon Miller's Heirloom Knitting. I used a number 5 Addi circular and yes, it blocked out to around four feet and over 106 inches and it took what seemed like forever. LOL

Posted - 01/26/2012 : 04:20:57 AM I would like to mention that I had some friends over for the Lunar New Year this weekend. It was two different couples, who came at different times. As soon as both couples walked in the door, someone would spot the shawl (hanging over my sewing chair) and say, "Did you make that? It's so pretty!"
Of course I gave Milinda credit. ;)

Kristina, oh wow.
The things you people knit just astonish and amaze me.

Kristina, your shawl is very lovely, also! Yet another very kindhearted knitter!

Posted - 01/16/2012 : 10:55:45 PM I want to thank you all for your compliments. It's so much fun to share here when something actually gets finished on my part. LOL That was a great deal of fun to make and I knew it would surprise Amanda and that made it even more fun.
JTAMSN, you are so kind to call this work inspirational. MMario told me once it is all just knit and purl and at first, I found it all so daunting but now, I adore knitting lace. So, anyone who wants to get into lace, please do. It's addicting.

:: Thank you so much for the praise and your project turned out perfectly wonderful! I LOVE the color and that stitch is something worthy of trying, IMO. Superb. I bet your sister is going to be thrilled.

Posted - 01/15/2012 : 6:28:12 PM Hi Vicki,
I haven't been knitting much, so I haven't been posting much. I've mostly been cross-stitching and learning to sew, although I do need to knit some safety orange hats for hiking in the woods during hunting season!
I'm doing well. I'm teaching gifted students (which I love!), bowling a lot (my husband and I took second place in our "Ball and Chain" league last year), and just generally enjoying life. :)
And yes, isn't Milinda's work gorgeous?? I love the work that went into it, and the color looks fabulous on me.
Kristina, your stole is beautiful!

Posted - 01/15/2012 : 07:42:41 AM Just beautiful. And how is Amanda? She hasn't posted in a while. You can PM me with the answer so her business isn't public - not that it is any of my business but I was concerned.
