How fortuitous that you should review Soft Donegal yarn, Clara. I recently ordered this yarn for a cabled cardigan being taught on Craftsy. The finished garment in the video looks beautiful, with cables and bobbles showing good stitch definition. I was wondering how well it would wear, being made from merino. I had knit a vest from Tahki's Donegal Tweed back in the 80's and it still looks like new. (I enjoyed your review from this past year.) This review of Soft Donegal gives me some assurance that it will hold up well enough, though I am a bit worried about the fuzziness after washing. I guess only time will tell.

It's okay with me that the yarn bears the name of Donegal. The word "Soft" is enough to alert the consumer to find its made from merino.

I was able to stop by Studio Donegal this weekend and get some lovely yarn and handwoven items. Like Barbara, I got enough yarn for Carol Feller's class on Celtic cables but now I wonder if it would not be better as a pullover, closer to my skin because it is so nice :)
