Does anyone recommend online or video classes for knitting beyond basic? I'm looking for fitting/sizing and advanced technique type classes. The local classes seem to be all basic.

I have taken some classes from Craftsy. I just did a Icelandic sweater and did my first steek. The class is with Ragga. Watch for sales with Craftsy. Donna

I know of a couple of sources for online classes: DVDs by Lucy Neatby, DVDs or downloads from Interweave.com, online classes at creativebug.com and craftsy.com. Yarnlover is right, previewing the courses and syllabus will give you an idea of whether the class is too basic for you.
Hint:Interweave often offers discount for their online courses and you can find coupons for craftsy classes in knitting magazines. Craftsy also has a few free classes so you can see if you like the format.

Anything by Amy Herzog will be helpful on fitting/sizing! She has a new online project: Amy Herzog Designs: Custom Fit.
Google that, and you will be into a helpful online site.
(I am a happy customer of Amy's, not an employee or anything.) Good luck!

I've recently purchased some online classes from Craftsy and so far have been very happy with the one I have watched. Instructor was very knowlegeable and the class really taught me what I wanted to learn. I have a few more classes in my account that I haven't started yet, but I hope to get started soon.
I downloaded to my tablet and can watch as many times as needed. You get unlimited access to the class with no ending date.
I also bought a couple of online video classes from Interweave but again haven't yet started them. They were on sale at year end, so I took advantage of that. However, these classes won't run on my tablet -android- so had to download to computer. Not as convenient, but I think these will be good learning tools anyway. Many of these videos have a preview that gives you a peek into the content and instructor. This really helped me decide to purchase or not.
Hope this helps,
