All right - you all have gotten me hooked. I watched the first episode several months ago and didn't like it that much. But, after seeing all the rave reviews I sat down and started again and I'm halfway through season 2 and love it. I'm totally sucked in!!

About "Call the Midwife": I am reading the book that inspired the series, by Jennifer Worth (also titled "Call the Midwife"). It is wonderful! I recommend it highly.

Will do! Thanks for the update. It always makes me want to get out my vintage knitting.

I like that show, too, but haven't caught up yet with older episodes. We're always playing catch up. We dropped cable several months ago and now use Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus. I don't know why we didn't drop cable a long time ago...there's so much to watch on these channels that we can't fit it all in.

Reminder to myself: PROVISIONAL cast on for EVERYTHING except toe-up socks.

Thank you (Minh?) for recommending this show. Although my husband calls it "Doom and Despair," I like it a lot. And I like the glimpses of adorable knitted (and crocheted) baby items that show up from time to time. My "favorite" though, was when the nurses were knitting together and off the needles came a crocheted blanket.

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.' "
