Posted - 12/18/2008 : 08:09:56 AM Hello I am a newbie to the crochet world and I am working on a single crochet patch work blanket. I was following a pattern but had trouble with understand so I reverted back to SC. I am now at the end of my first patch and I do not know how to finish the square off. Also what in the heck is whipstiching? The pattern said that is what I do to put all the squares together and make some sort of border. I realize this may be stupid but I need help. Thanks |

Posted - 12/18/2008 : 3:24:15 PM Here's a video to show the whip stitch joining squares. It has other sites that might be helpful as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtxVuyc4U2I&feature=related
As to that last stitch bind off I usually cut the yard (leave a tail), and pull it thru the stitch. It makes a knot of sorts but it flattens out as you weave the tail back into the piece. Others might have a different way. Hope this helps.
BTW Welcome to the forum. Go to the Introduction Section and tell us about yourself. We're having some issues with the server right now but will be back to speed soon.
