Posted - 04/08/2004 : 12:14:59 PM Any suggestions on where to find the ultimate felted purse pattern? I have seen many, but they all seem to fall a little short of my expectations. Ideally I'd love a nice "tote" bag that is deep and narrow with strong straps. Let me know....

Posted - 05/30/2007 : 10:40:39 PM Can anyone tell me if they know of a really nice pattern for a bag using Noro blossom yarn? I have 5 skeins of # 21 and I don't want to waste it on an unknown pattern. I saw one in the Simply Noro book (on-line) I don't have the book and I wondered if there is an equally nice pattern. I'm not sure if it is felted, but I think probably, not! Would really appreciate some help. Char Rube |

Posted - 04/12/2006 : 07:06:46 AM I thought I had found THE perfect felted bag for myself in the book Simple Knits. I followed the pattern exactly, (ok almost exactly, I changed very very minor things, like the bind-off) and instead of wide and short and very open at the top it came out widish, very tall, and smaller at the top than at the bottom. Not what I wanted at all. *sigh* That's ok I have some handles to put on it and it will be a gift for someone. :)

Posted - 01/07/2006 : 2:05:18 PM I have been looking for a plain bag so it could be embroidered. The felted swirl bag might just work for me. In my past life, I threw large platters and then glazed them with a landscape design. They were fired to high temp so the glazes blended. We now live on a sail boat with teck decks (no gas fired kilns allowed.) My sister-in-law taught me to knit last year, I really enjoy it. I want to translate the designs from the clay into yarn. The felting will give that blurry look, I think entarsia(sp) would give to clear of a line diffentiation.
