Posted - 03/27/2008 : 10:58:01 AM I want to make the Lion Brand 5 1/2 Hour Throw using the Vanna's choice yarn (three strands are held together as you crochet) and the pattern calls for a Crochet Hook Size Q. I don't like the way it is turning out and would like to use a smaller hook instead, like maybe an N. Will I need more yarn since I am using a smaller hook? Or less yarn? Also, it says to Chain 67 to start, will I need to increase or decrease that to adjust for the different size hook? New to crocheting, thanks for the help. [blush] |

Posted - 03/27/2008 : 12:35:42 PM A smaller hook will give a smaller, tigher guage and as a consequence, a smaller blanket. so yes, if you want it to come out the same size you will need to start with more chain sts and that will also use up more yarn.
Happy Knitting. |
