Posted - 05/05/2008 : 12:10:18 PM Hi there,
I'm a brand new crocheter -- made my first dishcloth on the weekend -- and I thought I would try making a scarf out of some leftover Misti Alpaca Chunky from a sweater project. Problem is...I can't find a hook size for this yarn. I used a 6mm (US 10, I think) needle for the sweater. Do I use a 6mm hook, or should I go for a bigger or smaller size. I have a set of hooks that goes up to 5.5mm, so I'm wondering if I need to buy a larger size.
Thanks! |

Posted - 05/06/2008 : 06:23:09 AM since you have a 5.5mm, I'd suggest swatching with it to see how it turns out. You may need the 6.mm though - I find I do pretty well using the same mm size hook as the mm size for the knitting needle.
Keep knitting, this too shall pass. |
