Posted - 01/14/2008 : 3:36:30 PM Has anyone got this book? I'm making the Ballerina Top which is on the cover, and also on Page 16. I'm working on the left front - the section where she starts shaping the neck. The instructions read, "Next 2 rows K1, sl 1, yf, turn, sl 1, k1." What's confusing me is that there are 74 stitches on my needle. If I knit one, slip one, yarn forward, then turn, what happens to the rest of my row? |

Posted - 03/26/2009 : 08:23:49 AM Linda, I don't have the book but...The instructions you indicate are a short row technique which is a method of decreasing. Usually the instructions would read knit X stitches (which would be for your shoulder), decrease, bind off X stitches (for center front), join another ball of yarn and repeat for your other shoulder. Are you instructed to bind off any stitches for the center front? How many stitches did you cast on? |
