- really cute - you can also find it on Ravelry and see better photos of this project from people who made this bear - people have made this with worsted weight yarn and it turned out very nice, too

Posted - 12/07/2009 : 09:07:49 AM What timing! I just started making this very bear 4 days ago! The pattern is VERY easy. It's possible to have it done in 1-2 days. My biggest difficulty is working with size 10 crochet cotton - it makes the pieces sooooo small and stiff. However, I've seen it made from larger yarn and it looks great. I'd say - go for it. IMHO, it is great for a first crocheted toy project, but you just might want to use thicker yarn. Having said that, this IS my first crocheted toy project and I'm using DMC Cebelia thread. I started with Aunt Lydia's, but that was unbelievably stiff and impossible to work with. My bear will be somewhere btwn 2.5-3" tall. It's tiny.
