Posted - 06/13/2010 : 9:44:30 PM Thanks Anderknit and Minh. Somehow I thought I didn't have it quite right. I will try your suggestions and see if it works out. Thanks again. |

Posted - 06/13/2010 : 4:42:57 PM I agree with anderknit. It would look something like this:
CO 75 sts on 10 US (6 mm) circular needle. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark beg of round. Knit in garter stitch 6 rnds (knit one rnd and purl the next). Dec: *k1, k2tog; rep around - 50 sts. knit in St st (knit every rnd) for 5".
Crown Decrease
Rnd 1: k1, *k5, k2tog; rep from * - 43 sts Rnd 2: k Rnd 3: k1, *k4, k2tog; rep from * - 36 sts Rnd 4: k Rnd 5: k1, *k3, k2tog; rep from * - 29 sts Rnd 6: k Rnd 7: k1, *k2, k2tog; rep from * - 22 sts Rnd 8: *k2tog around; rep from * - 11 sts Rnd 9: k1, *k2tog around; rep from * - 6 sts

Posted - 06/13/2010 : 4:22:45 PM I'm no expert, but I believe that the number of stitches you cast on needs to be a multiple of your first round of decreases (k1, k2tog). In other words, if you do a round of (k1, k2tog) decreases (3 stitches), your cast on should be a multiple of 3. So, cast on 75 or 78 stitches rather than 77. I think.
