Posted - 02/08/2012 : 08:39:01 AM In Cat Bohrdi's book Socks Soar on 2 Needles, she has a page, where she tells you how to adapt any sock pattern to using 2 circs. I use (almost exclusively) the Yankee Knitter Basic Sock Pattern and have adapted it to 2 circs using Cat's guidelines. I can knit on dp's, but find with arthritis in my hands, this method less bulky in the hands. If you ever visit Southern Maine, I have several favorite LYS's. How long have you been in Maine? judy (from southern me) |

Posted - 02/08/2012 : 07:16:28 AM here are two patterns I like: They use two needles or you can use dpn's. They are quick and easy! tube sock patterns... http://www.freevintageknitting.com/socks-pattern/practical-handknits/heeless-socks http://knittingbunny.blogspot.com/2007_04_20_archive.html

Posted - 03/17/2011 : 2:45:10 PM Thank you both for your replies! I dislike circular needles too, but in a pinch will use them if I have to. I need to research the magice loop as I have never heard of that! Off to check out Ravelry! Many thanks, Judie

Posted - 03/17/2011 : 09:35:44 AM If you are determined to make socks with seams, there are several patterns on Ravelry if you enter "two needle socks" in the pattern search box. Here is one:

But as mentioned, here and in answer to your question in another topic, there are other ways to knit in the round than double points. I use Magic Loop and love it.

Posted - 03/17/2011 : 07:53:41 AM Have you tried two circular needles? There is also the magic loop, one really long needle. There are some wonderful yarn stores in Maine, I'm sure they will be glad to help you.
