[It] stems from an incident last month during a debate in the Florida House of Representatives. State Rep. Scott Randolph, D-Orlando, compared the Republican majority’s willingness to impose restrictions on abortion but reluctance to impose regulations on business. So, he suggested, if his wife incorporated her uterus as a business, that would stop the anti-abortion legislation.
According to news reports from Tallahassee, House Speaker Dean Cannon chastised Randolph, through an intermediary, on the grounds that teenage pages could have heard him use the term. The story’s gone national, earning Randolph a spot on MSNBC talker Rachel Maddow’s program.

I gather "uterus" is the word about which the Speaker was outraged on behalf of the pages. Perhaps he assumes the pages still believe that the stork brought them?

The teenaged pages could have heard which term? Abortion or uterus? I would imagine the teenage pages have heard far worse terms if not technical terms in their music alone.
