Hi, my name is Diane and I've been a knitter since I was 10. My Mom, who passed away last year, taught me the basics and I went on from there to borrow many books from the library to learn more stitches and patterns. Learning to know was also the start of a continuing exploration in many different crafts, including crochet, tatting, spinning, weaving, sewing, quilting, etc.

My other passion in life besides my daughter and 2 granddaughters is Permaculture. I'm working at becoming a teacher and consultant and hope to be ready in the near future.

Thanks for hosting this forum Clara. I look forward to sharing all sorts of wonderful ideas with everyone here.

Hi Infinitea--Welcome to KR from Northern California, US. Funny how introduction to one craft tends to lead us by the bit into new ones.

How lovely your mother taught you how to knit. I'm currently teaching a niece to knit, and it's quite a wonderful family bond.
