Hi, I'm Ursula. I live in Kittery, Maine. I am in my sixties and have been knitting since I was twelve. When menopause hit I stopped knitting sweaters-I wasn't wearing sweaters! I began knitting socks. I learned toe up, top down, manic loop, two circs, one inside another, two at a time. I did color-stranding, stuffed, twined, twisted;many heels and toes. I am a member of the single-sock-syndrome. Presently I am working a toe up on 00's. Lace shawls are much easier than they used to be. Beginning sweaters again. OMG! My stash!!! Hope to use some of it on my grandkids (as long as it doesn't itch!) Never go anywhere without knitting.

Hi, Ursula--Welcome to KR. I'm starting to learn what you mean about menopause and sweaters. My mom once said, "It's not like you just get hot. It's like somebody fired up the furnace that lives inside of you and turned it on full blast." And now I get it!

Right on to the sock obsession. I want to do some toe ups, two at a time. And there are so many heels to choose from these days. A glut of wealth!
