Hi,

In 2010 our house was badly damaged and had to be knocked down and re-built, which was good as it was a fairly old house.

My son and husband did most of the plans.

On moving in they put a blindfold on me and led me down the hallway.

They had actually put in and furnished a knitting room for me, its wonderful with shelves, my computer, spinning wheel, knitting machines, windows with lots of natural light and a beautiful old chair, they even kept squares I'd made and had my daughter sew them up to make cushions and a blanket - the whole nine yards.

This was the most thoughtful gift I've ever had and I love my husband and kids to bits for being so incredibly thoughtful.

Knit in peace and harmony.

That goes above and beyond a gift, that is true love. What an amazing family you have!

Wow, what I wouldn't give to have my own knitting space.

WOW, Rose. This is so wonderful.

You have such a caring and thoughtful family. This is the best gift a family can give to another beloved member.

May you have so many wonderful and relaxing times in your room.

I gasped when I read your post, Rose. Having a "room of one's own", or private personal space can be emotionally important for some people ("some" meaning "me"), and this particular space sounds so lovely and lovingly prepared. They must love you dearly, and must have been so excited to finally be able to share it with you.
