I love to knit -- am interested in "favorite" baby sweater patterns of other members -- I want to be clear that I am not looking for free patterns that violate any copyright laws -- just want other knitter's opines.

I love "Lily's sweater" , from Cottage creations. It's a small cream-colored pamphlet found in many LYS's.

Kristina, thanks for the link to the Warm Ewe patterns. I love the Kimono baby sweater.
Girllawyer, I also like the designs of Lene Alve. Her "Minni" and "Lilliput" patterns are really lovely.

I love the the baby patterns designed by the owner of my LYS: www.warmewe.com
Her patterns are very cute and so well written.

I love the baby sweaters by Dale of Norway. I have several of their books from years past, but if you come across any, have a look. The designs are clean, cute, and sometimes witty!
Life is beautiful.

Ah, Nancy....too cute! I like the Baby Surprise, too. Fun knit. But to be honest, I've never seen a baby sweater I didn't like!
Reminder to myself: PROVISIONAL cast on for EVERYTHING except toe-up socks.

"opines"?? Opinions? copies? Not sure what you are seeking. My favorite is Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise, shown here on my grandson in 2010: http://tinyurl.com/kxck5yz
