Posted - 12/08/2011 : 12:12:34 PM Great list! I'd add The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook. Now that many of the festivals include locally grown fiber for spinning and as finished yarn, this book is very helpful as I feel my way through bins of roving from many sources. There's alpaca, heritage sheep, and rabbits -- all locally grown out here.

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 07:44:28 AM Clara, I'm amazed that you could narrow your list to just eleven books! Thank you for reminding me of a few that I've been meaning to get.

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 06:06:07 AM This is such an amazing year for books. I'm having serious issues making space in my knitting library . . . maybe it's time to unseat some old textbooks.

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 04:48:19 AM Overall I think this year wasn't as good as some years. That being said I think there were some very nice books that got published this year. I do not have your book yet (maybe Santa can notice this...) but the books that I liked this year were:
Vintage Modern by Kate Gagnon Osborn and Courtney Kelley Weekend Hats by Cecily Glowik MacDonald and Melissa LaBarre A stitch in Time 2 by by Susan Crawford & Jane Waller My Grandmother's knitting by Larissa Brown Knit one, Knit all by EZ and Little Red in the City by Ysolda Teague

Posted - 12/08/2011 : 12:02:10 AM Hey Clara, I'm not very up on my knitting reading this year, but I did read this week's KR, so congratulations on Library Journal's naming your book of socks one of the best fiber books of the year. Nice work!
