Posted - 02/04/2013 : 09:01:15 AM I'm writing from Southern NH. My mother's older sister taught me to knit, and my first item was the never-ending muffler, since she lived three hours away and I'd forgotten how to cast off. But I persevered. Largely self taught, and grateful for well-written patterns, I knitted lots of baby sweaters, then stepped up a level or three when my mother-in-law sent me, when I was a bride living on Okinawa, a kit for a fisherman's sweater that she had given up on. It's been a long and interesting road.
Signed onto the forum in search of patterns (thanks, Google)--who knows what interesting things may follow! |

Posted - 02/07/2013 : 6:32:08 PM Welcome to the KF, Kansarkokie! I'm a mostly self-taught knitter myself! It was difficult for me to get to classes, so I got the books, yarn, & needles, & went from there. Looking forward to reading your posts here in the forums!

Another welcome, this one from Northern California. My, you just jumped right in, didn't you? I've been knitting for two years and have yet to knit a sweater. (Well, I started one last February, but...)
