you can put the knits on a needle to the front and the purls on a needle to the back and Kitchener the 2 together. It give a machine finished tubular look, stretchy but no bagging.

I've been using Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bindoff (shown in Fall 2009 Knitty and Cat Bordhi has a very good video on YouTube).
