This is something I've done for a number of years -- find a bear who needs a good home (try second hand stores) and knit an afghan for the bear and one child sized. Then I give all three items to the police. They appreciate having something like that to give on on the unfortunate occasions when needed.

One more suggestion.

Size? Any size as bears (or dolls but bears go for boys, too) come in all sizes and children come in all sizes.

The size you make will be just exactly right. I make them matching and washable. Nothing fancy but sturdy.

Margie and Mimi (my hearing dog who doesn't knit -- yet)

Margie, that's a great idea!

Give Mimi a hug for me.

Best wishes,

Anna

Life is beautiful.
