Posted - 02/05/2008 : 09:35:45 AM As a crochet newbie, I would love to crochet more. But I'm stuck. Stuck on something very simple and silly. Can anyone tell me how to "read" a crochet swatch?
I've swatched. Single crochet, double crochet, half-double...but I have a hard time "seeing" the individual stitches. I have this problem with patterned knit swatches too, like seed stitch, but fortunately most knit swatches are stockinette.
Can anyone point me to a crochet tutorial or how-to book that highlights the individual crochet stitches in a swatch?
Thanks a bunch!

Posted - 02/05/2008 : 9:33:24 PM I don't know of anything that has drawings you might like, but I can tell you a simple way to "See" a single crochet stitch. It looks much like a Greek letter pi.
