Posted - 10/14/2008 : 12:15:38 PM The Weaver's Guild of Greater Cincinnati is a very active guild with lots of classes in all manner of fiber arts, including spinning. Our webpage is at http://www.weaversguildcincinnati.org.
Membership is $50 per year, and includes first priority for classes and workshops (there is an additional charge for these), monthly meetings and programs, Tuesdays and Thursdays open work days at the guild house, monthly study groups on a wide range of fiber topics, use of guild equipment including a dying room, wheels, looms, cards, combs, etc.
The Cincinnati Guild is also an exceptionally welcoming group of talented, skillful and curious fiber nut cases. We have members from as far away as Louisville, KY, and a couple from Dayton, OH.
I think there is also a WG in Springfield, which is somewhat closer than Cincinnati. I don't know anything about them, but here is their contact information (from the Handweavers Guilds of America):
Weavers Guild of Miami Valley Ohio c/o Rena Conrad 2749 Woodford Dr. Springfield OH 45503-1949 http://www.wgmv.org
Good luck!!
David
