Posted - 12/15/2008 : 8:12:25 PM I had heard that ArtFibers, that home of dazzling one of a kind custom yarns you cannot get anywhere else, was closing its brick and mortar store and switching to online-only sales, but visiting the shop last week made me all the more mournful.
This is the store whose yarn I have loved (no, worshipped) since I began knitting several years ago. Just being WITH these unique yarns - made for ArtFibers - makes me happy, and it's hard to do that online. By the same token, I have loved everything I have bought there, so ordering online should not be so hard, and I'll definitely keep on buying.
For those of you who haven't visited the store, get in there now; it closes in January. They have lots of GORGEOUS yarn left, much of it discounted (up to 30% off). Give yourself a chance just to mingle among the balls and cones and amazing colors; I always come away from ArtFibers happy.
I will truly miss this one of a kind wonderland of yarn. |

Posted - 12/16/2008 : 08:13:44 AM Oh, no - a visit to Artfibers is always one of the highlights of my trips to SF. I hope I get the chance to go before it closes.
