I won several auctions from Janette (4to4) this summer and asked that everything be shipped surface mail from England. To my surprise the packages began arriving a few days after Janette mailed them. Everything was here in Boston in a week. Except one lot of Kid Soft and pattern book.

After waiting for about 10 weeks I emailed Janette to ask if there was any way to trace the missing parcel. She said no, but then offered to replace everything at no charge! I told her I couldn't accept since she was not responsible for the loss, but she insisted. And wouldn't take a penny, not even for airmailing the replacement parcel.

Everything arrived yesterday in perfect condition. I am astonished at her gracious generosity.

Just wanted to share the good feeling.

Cheryl

Always good to know!

I did a search and nothing came up. "Janette 4to4" -- is that correct?

No, her username on ebay is "4to4", her real name is Janette.

I just purchased the yarn pack to make Katherine of Aragon from Tudor Roses out of Jamieson's spindrift. It arrived amazingly quickly, and included the elusive color marjoram. One skein was missing, but she responded to an email within minutes that it's on its way.

Me too !! She is responsible for my Rowan stash and she is so lovely to deal with and friendly and fast.
I have even shock, horror bought a ready-made Calmer sweater from her (it was cheaper than buying the yarn for it, LOL) and I got instant gratification

She is definitely my favorite, too! I've bought tons of noro from her (I don't think I'm going through KFI since she's in England.) and she's just so pleasant to deal with.

I've been happy with the yarn from "sanfelieysantiago" as well. Very nice yarn, comparable to manos (the merino's as soft as angel wings) at about a third of the cost. Sells on e-bay but also through their site: www.handpaintedyarn.com One of my LYS started carrying their yarn and actually charges more for it than manos goes for!

I have also been happy with the sanfelipe whatever (can't remember the name) yarns. One of my favorite yarns is alpaca and I get a lot of mine from Alpaca Amore. It is fingering weight, usually, but with my Civil War knitting I use a lot of fingering and lace weight, and have used his alpaca double for a DK or worsted weight. Sooooo soft. I'll have to cehck out Janette - a lady can't have too many yarn sources....

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Up untill my very last purchase, I've been very satisfied with everyone I've bought from on e-bay. I've purchased yarn from both the UK vendors (cucumberpatch and 4to4), and been very happy.
