There are two nice patterns in Interweave Knits and FC Easy Knitting that I want to make, but can't afford the $200 it's going to cost to buy enough Chrysalis! Has anyone got any idea what I can use as a cheaper substitute? Something close to this gauge: 14 sts and 18 rows = 4" with size 10 needles. Chrysalis is 94 yds/100g per ball. I have to admit, that stuff is beautiful but I just can't shell out for it...*sniff*

look for it either on ebay or at one of the UK sites.

i think www.kangaroo.uk.com and maybe colourway.co.uk both carry it at roughly 50% of what it costs here.
