Hi,
I'm just about 1/2 done with my current project. I'm working on coming up with a new pattern for Inspirations Yarn; I had an idea for something I thought would be fun to make so I'm turning into a pattern to offer on the site. . . .
I dyed up 1 lb of "Grande", our bulky weight wool yarn in Colorway 1004 "The Mean Reds". I've knitted up a hat, just a basic ribbed hat but I think it looks pretty cool in this yarn. . . . now I'm making a pair of mittens which will be lightly felted. I currently have one mitten finished enough to felt and am about to cast on the 2nd one . . . then I'll be doing a nice big scarf to complete the set.
One of the best parts about doing Inspirations is that I get to just come up with ideas and knit them up to share. I feel so lucky to be doing this as my work now since its so much fun. Just handling the yarns give me so many ideas that I couldn't possibly knit them all! Though it sure is fun to try!
I hope to have this set finished in a few days and the pattern up later in the week . . . .
Happy knitting!

Marthene, Perhaps when you are finished, you could post your hat on the hat forum and more people will see it. I would love to purchase some of your yarn--just discovered it and the colors are so beautiful. Sharon

The colors are even prettier in "person" and the yarn feels wonderful. Nice and soft and not itchy at all.

Oooh, I love hats! And Martheme, I've been eyeing that Grande yarn....is it about the same gauge as Point Five?

Hi Julie,
Sorry, but what is Point Five? I'm knitting this now on Size 11 at 3 st/inch which leaves the stitches a bit loose . . . I'm going to swatch some more after I finish this mitten but think it would work on needles 9-12 or so with a 4 1/2 st/inch to 2 1/2 st to an inch range, depending on how tight you like your stitches . . .
I'll know more soon.
thanks,
Margaret
