Right, who is with me: http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/tour2005.html
I will be at Knit Happens on the 27th, oh yes I will. I've been trying to go to this shop for ages and Satan kept throwing obstacles in my path. But he will not foil me on the 27th, no no. Even though April is the cruelest month. I won't get a flat and my neice won't get sick and work will not track me down.
Not that I'm tempting the fates, because that is not my intention.

NO FAIR! I'll be there a week later for Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. Can you distract her for a few days until I get there?
Oh wait, wait, what have we here... I just checked her schedule, and it appears she'll be at the festival too. Lucky day!

Yes--at the festival and at the shop in Alexandria. Glad to see you'll get a chance to see her there, Clara.

I like her plans for May 14th.
I'm waiting for my book to get here. Maybe I'll carry it to Sheep and Wool to get an autograph.

Sure, Lissa! It sounds like a grand time to arrange a bit of a carpool, since parking in Alexandria can be rather difficult. I'll see if Jill wants to come, since Wednesday is normally our knitting night at the Borders. I can seat five total in my truck, and there will still be room for purchases and purses in the back (assuming I take out the pile of empty sheep that are currently riding with me). But I warn you now--I have a terrible sense of direction and will require navigatory assistance, and I listen to banjo-tunes all the time. Self-awareness is key.

If you haven't found it yet, Stephanie's bookbookbook tourtourtour schedule is available on her blog. She is going to be ALL over the place in the next few months....definitely the two days at MSW, but also in New York, Boston, Vermont, etc.

I'm afraid to ask, but what are empty sheep? The image is just too much for me. Please tell me its wool.

Empty sheep are sheepskins. Hope that's not too upsetting--I do some leatherwork and often have hides and/or skins around.

I attended the book signing last night. What fun! Knit Happens is a beautiful store and owner, Kristine, was a delight! Author (and Yarn Harlot), Stephanie was fun to chat with, although I regret I was unable to stay for the "social" hour. I did get to sit and knit a bit with Trudy and Pixie (who was actually crocheting last night). I enjoyed seeing other people's FOs and WIPs - gorgeous stuff! It was nice to see Lanea and her friend, Jill. I hadn't met anyone, except Lanea, before, but I felt like I was with friends.

Me, too. I was hit with a last minute conference call. I told the board members that I was missing the Yarn Harlot book signing and seeking sympathy. I received none....

Sorry y'all missed it. I hope you can see her at MD Sheep and Wool. Jill and I made an afternoon of it--we went to Springwater first, had dinner, and then went to the signing. And lo and behold, there was Bridget at the counter. We were looking at each other like "Hey, I know you."
I was surprised by the author's voice--it's always neat to hear a person whose words you have read. She had a lovely flower-basket shawl with her that I was drooling over.
