I just received this yesterday,I must say "awesome, innovative, modern and beautiful", Teva's book loop-d-loop adds a creative touch to knitting, it is inspirational and a must add to your collection. I posted some pictures from the book on my blog see "Reading today...." on kutieknits.typepad.com . Teva gives a nice shout out to the readers of the Knitters Review Forum that were and are helpful to her in the book. Her website www.loop-d-loop.com . I received this book from Barnes & Noble dot com , I'm sure you'll be able to obtain the book there or from other bookstore sources.

Thanks for the photos. The braided neckpiece is cool. I also really like the blue 'shrug'. Looking forward to getting the book. My library has it on order for me. mwyn

DG! Thanks for my first consumer review! I was surprised you received the book already. I saw that B&N and Amazon took away the preorder button as if they could ship book, but it's not supposed tobe out until May 1 or June 1 depending on where you look. Did you pre-order a long time ago? And how did you havetime already to knit the Braided Neckpiece? You're awesome.
I wonder if anyone else has received their copies. I hope you'll all let me know. I only have 1 advance copy myself. I've been told the warehouse will soon ship me the books I'm sending out to knitters who worked on samples. I'm going to call them today. I may have done better to order them online as my author's discount is not much lower than the sale price online. Teva

Teva, Koen (my favorite book distributor) has it listed in their daily fax for 4/18, which means they have it in the warehouse. They're in New Jersey. Congratulations! I can't wait to see it (and get one for myself).

I ordered this book from Amazon last Friday (I've been waiting for it for months, but I never preordered), and they said it should ship within 24 hours. I'll be sure to post when it arrives.

My copy arrived today from B&N. It's a beautiful book -- I am always impressed by the production quality of Melanie Falick's work. The designs are truly creative and original - what a breath of fresh air to see designs that are a little more challenging and unique! I know that some KR members helped with the knitting, so I have an extra reason to like this book. Congratulations!

p.s. there is a list of knitters by name in the back - I even recognized some of you...

So, why not order it from your friendly neighborhood independent bookstore? Mine are arriving tomorrow! (Sorry, can't help myself...)

I don't have one. Just the net and the big box chains. Sigh. At least Amazon has a good price.

Hi again, all and loopygal. I pre-order books from b&n and amazon, the ones I really want so when they arrive in their warehouse they ship out immediately (I'm more successful with B&N). I use to write book reviews so I still have my trade connections,(only for pre-advanced copies) As for the braided neckpiece, I ordered the pattern from Teva's website awhile ago. In the loop-d-loop book she acknowledges by name the test knitters. The introduction by far is an interesting and positive read.

I received mine from crafterschoice yesterday. Wow, this is a beautiful book and the size is fairly substantial. I was surprised by that.

Ooh, y'all got to be test knitters? I would LOVE to be a test knitter! I'm a very good knitter, I promise, and I'm a good technical editor--I'm always finding and correcting pattern errors. . . please keep me in mind if you need more helpers in the future! I'm looking forward to getting my copy of your fabulous new book from the library soon.

Congratulations,
Helen

I can't wait to get my copy! I've been waiting for it since I'd seen Teva's post here on KR.

It hit the shelves of B&N this week, and last night I was jumping up and down - and showing everyone in the cafe the pictures of the sweater I test knit for the book! (Don't worry, I'm there every Wed. night so they know me and didn't think I was some kook.) I did the large Harringbone Intarsia sweater, and really loved how the colors popped off the page.

I have to admit that much of Teva's work on her website isn't stuff that I would ever knit. I'm far too "fluffy" for the chunky yarns and oversize design elements, and I also don't think I'm hip enough for her style. However, there were more than just a few things in the book that I would do, and irregardless of that it's a phenomenal inspiration book.

Plus, I do have to add that if you are going to translate knitting into "hip and trendy" this is the way to do it. Teva's work has class, and that's something that is often missing from other books that try to speak to the younger set.

Thanks you guys for all for the praises. This is so exciting. Great to get feedback after working so long on project and know that the knitters who participated are finally getting to see the product. It is actually on the shelves at B&N?

I just spoke to the publisher and the copies I ordered are coming from Indiana by ground--they say 10 business days. I'm going to Staples to get mailers and prep them so I can rush them off as soon as the books arrive. I'm also honing my autographing skills.

The garments are going on a trunk show and volunteer sample knitters should contact me if they want the sample back after the end of publicity. Hopefully they won't be in shreds.

There's a launch party in nyc on June 1. Contact me if you want to be invited.

I'm hoping to do signings/workshops in several cities. If you know of any of your local venues interested contact me.

There's a review on Amazon already. I'm flattered by the comparison with EZ. I was a bit off-put by the intro of my profile in Interweave as it stated I wasn't influenced by EZ nor Kaffe Fassett. Not true. You will see from the book they are inspirations along with Starmore and also my contemporaries like Norah Gaughan. Also left out from that profile was my indebtedness to Melanie Falick who is doing much to change knitting book publishing.

I just got my shipment from bn.com and the book is simply stunning! i'm a tiny bit daunted by some of the patterns, but I love the way the patterns are organized by skill level. The designs are beautiful and interesting and I'm very excited to dive in.

congratulations teva!
