Hi,

My mom owns a Norman Hall Renaissance Castle Wheel and would like to sell it. She's getting on in years and this specific wheel is just too big for her. I guess Dad liked it more than mom did.. great gift, but mom said that the footprint was just plain to large for her.

If you are interested in it, please email me.

Here is a "loose description" of this massive wheel:

- Made by Norman Hall Series number 1, dated October 17, 1993
- The wheel and accessories are made of a glorious blond, birds eye maple
- 24 1/4 in production wheel
- Orifice diameter 1/4 & 1/2 in
- Orifice is 33" high
- Double drive with scotch tension
- Double treadle
- not used more than 10 hours. Mom has several spinning wheels.
- threading hook
- Lazy Kate and tray with distaff and 5 large bobbins

Whether you use this wheel, or just set it out as a show piece, it will serve you well.

We will take offers for the wheel until the end of May. At that time, the person who has made the highest offer will get the wheel.

Payment will be with a cash or cashiers check. Shipping will be the buyers’ responsibility. The wheel is in Syracuse, NY.

If you pick up the wheel in person, I’m sure that mom would spend a few hours working with you on your new wheel. Mom comes from Europe and has spun all of her life. She wouldn’t say this of herself, but I know that she is a huge resource for local spinning clubs here in the Central New York region. Over the years, Mom has also won several first prizes at the New York State Fair in spinning/knitting competitions.

If you have any questions, I'll be glad to post them here on this thread.

Would it be possible to post or send photos?

And do you have a ballpark $$ you're looking at?

I would love something like that. Unfortunately, there is no way I could afford something like that right now. Good luck with selling it.

Take care!

My dad and Norman Hall have been friends for over 15 years. This last January, in a discussin, Normann told dad that he should be able to get somewhere around $2,400 - $2,500.

With waiting lists as long as they are, this is probably not an unrealistic figure. Mom would rather not divulge her "reserve price" at this time.

I'll work on the pictures. I have my camera with me, however, I left the cables to connect the camera to my computer in Arizona. I return to Arizona on 5/3. At the latest by then, I'll be glad to send pictures.
