I posted a while ago about knitting Elspeth from the most recent Rowan. It came out very cute, so I thought I would post a picture! A few people mentioned that they had concerns that there might be some problems with the pattern- I had none, although I did find it tremendously difficult to follow until I charted it out. Once that was done, it was very easy, and fast!

Oh, and I shortened the sleeves- I just started them after the armpit decreases, and obviously I used ribbon for the tie rather than the self-tie.

And the pained look on my face is because it is about 100 degrees out...

It's beautiful! I really like the ribbon, it adds a nice accent. Thanks for the advice on charting it out - this is on my list of things to do and I will take your advice!

It's very pretty. I like the color and I like the ribbon better than the self-tie. Much more feminine.

Very pretty on you. I agree with argoknit--the ribbon tie was a great modification.

Thanks everyone!

EstCookie, you should chart it out on graph paper- that way you do not have to constantly be figuring out where you are. You can print some here: http://www.tata-tatao.to/knit/matrix/e-index.html

I knit the back just from following the chart, and it was enough to make me crazy! What yarn are you using?

Oh, and it will cool off here soon- like in November or so!

Thanks Kristin for the program, I'll have a look now.
I'm Im using Knitpicks Shine. There are less sts to the " than Rowan's Calmer, but by reducing my needles I seem to have got the gauge. Shine was only meant to be a practice until I bought the calmer, but I loved the feel of it so carried on!

Hi Kristin,

I love your version of Elspeth, especially using the ribbon tie. I made mine in Rowanspun DK and have so many brooches, it'll be an excuse to use them when I wear it. Happy knitting!
