A group of us in northern VA are planning to get together on July 17th from 1 pm to ? at Sky Meadows State Park on Rt. 17 for a picnic. If you can get there to eat, show off some projects, work on some projects and enjoy being with a group of knitters, consider yourself invited!

The view is beautiful and there is a covered porch with rockers at the house. There is shade under trees if you want to bring a chair or a blanket for the front lawn.

I'll see you there. This is a good idea for the doldrums of summer.

That's a KnitKnutz day - WAHHH! Since I missed yesterday, I don't want to miss this one. Any chance of changing it to Saturday?

Lissa -
Oh, drat!! I was wondering if we were going to conflict with the KnitKnutz. For me, Saturday is not "do-able." I will miss seeing your perky self.

Kerry is very busy and will not be able to join us on Sunday. Lissa, I should have checked about KK, so sorry. For future events we all seem to be able to do Sunday afternoons. Which Sundays in August are free for you Lissa? Maybe we can plan ahead.

I just might have to see if I can make that... I don't know if I'm totally up for the drive, but I'd love to see you all... hmmm... let me ponder...

the weekend weather forecast continues to be overcast and in the high 80's. I think we will be able to find cover if there's a shower during the afternoon. I'm looking forward to visiting with Nancy and Eugenia again, I learn so much from them when we knit together.

Rebecca, DH is coming along for the ride. If Laura wants to come with you, he will gladly entertain her. He can teach her nature photography if she brings her camera, or teach her to draw using perspective. He just taught a kids nature photography class at Sky Meadows yesterday.

thanks Mary Lou, but her dad is taking her to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She is a big Johnny Depp fan! Looking forward to seeing you all very soon,

I really missed you guys today, but in the end was glad I didn't skip KnitKnutz, 'cause a dear friend whom I rarely get to see came for the first time in a long time. Please, tell me all about your day!

While you were hot and sticky down in the lowlands, there was a lovely breeze and plenty of shade at Sky Meadows. It was surprisingly comfortable. Rebecca, Bridget, and I had a nice time knitting and chatting.

Hey girls,

Sorry I didn't make it to Sky Meadows yesterday. It was my birthday and my husband and kids threw a surprise birthday party for me. I was completely flabbergasted! It wasn't a milestone birthday which is why I guess I wasn't the least bit suspicious. I still want to get together. We will be leaving Friday for 6 days and will return on the following Thursday. My sister is an avid knitter and knows Lissa from KnitNuts. Maybe she can come out from Chantilly and join us also. So glad to hear you had a great time in spite of the heat!!

We were definitely lucky with the weather. I posted some pictures up on my blog so you can get an idea of what the park is like. Karen, it may be better for you and Lissa to pick the next date to make sure we can all get together sometime.

I enjoyed our little picnic get together, too. I hope we can meet up again soon with Nancy and Eugenia and Kerry before summer is over.

Looks like you had a lovely time! Unfortunately, my list of available weekend dates is very short:

July: 23

Aug: 13, 20, 21, 27.

I hope to see you all, soon. Of course you could ALL come to one of the three KnitKnut meetings in August...

A lovely day for sure!! We had show-n-tell. Miss Pooh brought "Mr. Pooh" and the cutest "baby" purses (gift card holders) I have ever seen! And Rebecca has a shawl-collared vest that I am coveting!

Ladies (and gent?), I look foward to our next get-together.
