Okay...I am relatively new to forums (fora?) and would like a primer on the acronyms you folk are using:

WNYIP, DH (I've learned this is "D.Husband", not "Designated Hitter", but what's the "D" for?), etc.

If anyone can start a glossary for me, I'd much appreciate it!

Thanks! -- Confused in Calgary

OK, here are some commonly used forum terms:

DH = Dear or Darling (or Damn, depending on your mood...LOL) Husband
DS = Darling Son
DD = Darling Daughter
SIL = Sister in Law
MIL = Mother in Law

WIP = Work in Progress
FO = Finished Object
WNYIP = Works Not Yet in Progress
OKC = Obligatory Knitting Content

IMHO = In my humble opinion
IMNSHO = In my not so humble opinion

LOL = Laughing Out Loud
LMAOROFL = Laughing My A$$ Off, Rolling on the Floor

That's just a few of many. Hope this helps!

Thank you SO MUCH for asking that question Confused in Calgary
(you do realise that you should be in the movie Sleepless in Seattle don't you!!).
So far, I have just skipped over most of the abbreviations or guessed what they stood for - silly me didn't think to be sensible like you and just ask. But now that you've asked things will become so much clearer!
