I have used Procion Mx dyes to batik silk and cotton. I would like to try them on wool and alpaca yarn. What techniques has anyone tried on wool yarn, other than standard vat dyeing? If you have painted or squirted dye on yarn and then steamed it, how did that work? Did you mix vinegar with the dye before applying? How long did you steam the yarn? Any other hints or suggestions?
