I originally bought this to make Backyard Leaves from Scarf Style, but the varigated colorway overpowered the pattern. It is a pretty fall color called prairie
Any suggestions? I am toying with the idea of My So Called Scarf or the multidirectional scarf but I really don't wear scarves all that often. Hats either for that matter (would you believe i live in snowy windy upstate NY?)
Could I make a vest or a shrug out of that or maybe a small shawl?

Kim, what is the yardage on each? I have lots of the malabrigo worsted merino, but think Manos wool is less yardage.

I also have three left-over variegated Manos skeins in need of a good project. Will watch this topic with great interest!

Manos felts beautifully - why not make a nice felted bag? I made a smallish one with one skein, three could make a good sized one perfectly!

You said you're not that into scarves, but the "So-called Scarf" patterns is fabulous in Manos, and it would make a great holiday gift. It takes not more than 2 skeins, though.

If you can get 2 skeins of Rowan Kid Silk Haze, Last Minute Knitted Gifts has a wonderful scarf that takes 2 skeins of Manos and 2 skeins of Kid Silk Haze. With one more skein of just Manos, you can make a matching hat from a pattern in the same book. I am on my 3rd set and am giving them as Christmas gifts. You can use different combinations of yarn, and it turns out just beautifully. Sharon |
