I asked him when he came home.
"Did you take my size 2 Addi double-points and the bag of Austermann Pharao yarn that I was using for this sweater?"
"Did I what?"
"I'm missing them. They're not in my stash. Did you take them for some weird reason? I don't know, maybe having to do with Christmas."
He started laughing, "No, hon, I didn't, sorry." Then he started looking in the same drawers I looked in.
Hmmmm...

My DH recommends stomping around the house cursing when something has disappeared like that. It doesn't usually help find anything, but sometimes it makes you feel better.
I would start looking in unlikely places where you might have been while holding the bag of yarn and needles...in the freezer, for instance, or in the bathroom cupboard, or on top of the washing machine. And please don't ask what it is I've found in those places!

I once found the remote control in the spice rack. It had been missing for MONTHS.
However! I found the yarn! It was under 16,894 other things in my stash!
No sign of the needles yet, though.

That's a start! The needles can't be far away, can they?

You may have to question the yarn as to the whereabouts of the needles.

Good to see Miss Marple on the scene. I have faith she can solve the mystery soon!

This thread reminds me of an old Mother Goose and Grim comic strip that I have laminated and on the wall in my office. Mother Goose is telling someone that "I always worry about the hereafter. Like what did I come in here after." Unfortunately that is fitting me more and more lately.

In the spice rack - that's great! I'll keep that in mind for the next time I lose something. Which was probably 5 minutes ago and I just don't know it yet. Maybe the needles will come out for some Thanksgiving dinner?

I'll bet you could use knitting needles to truss the bird.
