| I'm not sure about this issue. It's great that they are catering to the holidays crowd and bags are great gifts and everything, but I wish they would have just a bit more variety like they usually do- give me a sweater or a shawl, or heck a scarf! Especially something with substance, like a sweater. That said, the designs are really cute and one or two things just went on my list! |

I like the name of the denim bag pattern, "Injeanius". Thanks for posting the link!

lavender stripes, I agree- cute, but where's the sweater? Its getting cold out, a purse will not keep me warm, darn it!

I was pretty disapointed at first when I looked at this months issue. then I remembered that they are trying to post a lot more often than they used to. Like every month. So hopefully we'll have another issue up and coming very soon. That also might be the reason for the themed issue.

Ohhh, that denim bag! I`ve GOT to make that! Trouble is, none of us actually wear jeans, so I`ll have to wait till the next jumble sale, and that will be in January.

No lie it's free. That doesn't mean I can't be disappointed that it's only bags.

I'd suggest emailing Kerrie and letting her know how disappointed you are, then. I'm sure she'd appreciate it.

Dude, I'm trying to read your post with a smile, but it still feels like you're ubersensitive. Are you offended because you're friends with her or have a pattern in there or what?

I can see Injeanius at a store like Guess for $300. Don't see myself knitting with jeans . . . but you never know. Such a cute idea and execution. RoseM |

I'm not a dude, and I'm not offended. I'm not friends with her nor do I have a pattern in MagKnits.
I think I'm a little more puzzled, than anything else, that people actually gritch about things like MagKnits when it's free. I don't understand the point. I can most certainly understand people gritching about the crap that was in VogueKnitting recently, especially if it's something they received as part of a subscription.
But, again, I'm sure Kerrie would appreciate all opinions on her efforts.

It was announced quite some time ago on the Magknits newsletter that the November issue was going to be purses and the December issue is going to be kids, so it is hardly a surprise for us who subscribe to the newsletter. since Magknits is monthly now, there are going to be several "themed" issues during the year.

I'm not interested in the bags right now, but I often am several months behind the times. I'm glad for this issue, A lot of interesting bags there, and I'll keep it in mind if I need an idea for a gift.
I for one am grateful for all the free resources online. My library is far from overflowing with knitting books, even the whole county system. Any information is better than none in my point of view! Even if I don't like the idea as such, it gets me to thinking of what I DO want.

| I for one wasn't trying to complain about it- I think some of the patterns are really cute! I was just saying that I wish there was a sweater or something- I'm not a huge purse knitter. That said, it's great that it's free, and I understand having themed issues-- it's just not my particular cup of tea. |

I agree with all of the above: it is free which is great, and it is disappointing that there are only purses this month, and it is great that there will be another issue soon and it is REALLY disappointing that I haven't started Durrow, from the last issue.

Perhaps the editors thought that no-one would be really interested in starting a bigger project like a sweater this close to Christmas? Bags could be last minute knitted gifts, after all. (But then so could gloves and scarves......)
There`s two items there that spark my interest and I will knit....the denim bag and the little amulet bags. That`s two more than I found in the last one, though I still read it of course. It`s a gift, it`s free....it`s a nice read. I hope they publish plenty more.

Of course it's not really free, it's just free to us. I'm sure they have sponsors of some kind, and if enough people are dissatisfied and stop looking, the sponsors lose out a lot, so it is reasonable to share your opinions one way or another.
Myself, I've never been overly impressed by anything they've done, and I'm less so with an all purse issue. But no biggie.

Exactly, RoseByAny. Like radio. I don't pay to listen to the radio (well, other than electricity) but you should've heard one of the local radio shows frustrated with their ratings.
And Jayhawk, for the record, I wasn't calling you a dude, it was the typed version of muttering it under my breath.
