Five of my closest online friends and I are currently reading Sue Monk Kidd's: The Secret Life of Bees.
Normally, I'd have such a small book read in it's entirety in under three hours, but more pressing things are going on in my life at the moment, so it's an on again off again 'pick up and read'.
On another note: yesterday marked ONE YEAR of REMISSION for my DH.... wooooohooooo!

| I read this book over the summer and loved it. It's such a good story. I am a fan of books with well-developed characters and a story that doesn't necessarily rely on "action" to keep me hooked. |

I just finished The Mermaid Chair by the same author. Strange but an interesting read nonetheless.

I liked "Secret Life" but I liked "Mermaid Chair" better, although once you read them both you notice some similar themes (relationships with Mothers, with 'forbidden' love, etc).

Congrats on the good MD news! I LOVED Secret Life of Bees. Also read Mermaid's Chair, but liked Bees better. She's such a great writer -- can't wait for the next Sue Monk Kidd!

LOVED Secret Life of Bees. Loved it and was sad when it ended. I'm so happy about your husband! Huzzah!
Oh, if you liked Secret Life - you might like a book called The Same Sweet Girls by Cassandra King. |
