Clara, I'm so intrigued by the swatch in the review this week, but I can't seem to find that color on Willow Wood's pages. Can you tell me the name of it? I love the Lady and Winter colors, too. Some of the others are gorgeous, but a bit bright for me. Maybe I should start wearing brighter colors???

Ah, that specific swatch was made using the mohair/wool combo in the Winter colorway. Her picture shows more pink/pumpkin hues than what was in my skein, which she dyed several weeks ago. I'm guessing she altered the formula slightly. But it's still lovely stuff. More "mohairy" than wooly (it has a smoother, shiny hand).

Do check out her new almond blossom colors - she just added them today and they're beautiful.

I loved Iris as well. Just as soon as I get through some of the Mountain Colors I have, that's next on my list. I'm sure I need a pair of purple and green socks! :) Or another scarf!

This site had such yummy yarn, and I'm a real sucker for merino-alpaca blends...but at the cost of each hank (converted to $CDN), it'd have to be a special project for a special person before I could spring for it (sigh)...

Clara,

Gorgeous yarns and blends in vivid colors! The only problem for me is the dark green background of the site which makes it very difficult to read each description. Is there a way for me to change the background color? Thought I'd ask since there is so much that computers can do that I don't know about yet.

Thanks, Patience

Thanks, Clara! Winter and Lady were my two favorites. I've bookmarked the site, hoping for a few birthday bucks next month (the big 50!). Marg, even is US$ the yarn is pricey, but it looks worth it. Plenty to make a couple pairs of socks!

chris (almost done the second pair...why didn't anyone tell me these were addictive?????)

Keep on knittin', mama, knittin' those blues away!

How do.
Chris, thanks for starting this topic & Clara, thank you for telling us about Cecelia & these beautiful yarns. I wrote her an email yesterday to ask about quantities for socks & her ideas for yarns for a shawl for a friend who wants to avoid scratchy, itchy & rough feeling yarns. Cece wrote me back promptly w/answers & a lovely suggestion for the shawl (the Alpaca & Merino wool, about 5 stitches to the inch on number 7 needles). I don't have much experience w/hand painted yarns & Willow Woods seem to be a fabulous place to start!
