I just wanted to mention, as a newbie, how important certain resources have been. Today I achieved plied yarn! Super helpful resources:

www.joyofhandspinning.com and icanspin.com and their wonderful video files
these forums and all the spinning/spindling Yahoo groups
Hands On Spinning (book) by Lee Raven
Spin-Off magazines basics articles
Spinning Wool: Basics and Beyond video tape
the internet, for buying fiber
and a spinning friend!

Resources I want to use in the near future:
Additional spinning videos/dvds
local fleece producers
Maryland Sheep and Wool!

Rose, I can't WAIT for MDSW this year. That place is even better for spinners than it is for knitters. The local knitting guild is once again planning a bus trip down there.
