I am considering making Norah's ribbed tunic from Vogue Knitting Winter Special 89-90. The acrylic yarn she used is discontinued (it was called Cantanel-la) and I've been searching the web for a substitution. It should be DK weight with a good stitch definition. I was thinking about Schachenmayr Micro. Any ideas?
Sue, Sorry I can't help with a yarn sugggestion (I generally substitute by gauge and read the reviews here). Anyway, I am working on a very simple vest designed by Norah for Art Yarns. I don't think she's to blame, but the directions are not the easiest to read...and I just noticed that she is a designer for Berreco now!
I started a thread on her last year sometime. She is due out for a book in May this year. I'm not sure why you're having trouble with the directions but I'd be glad to help out. It's a good idea to swatch whatever you choose and make sure to get the gauge that the pattern calls for. I'm not that familiar with acrylics...
