Happy New Year everyone. Seems that I've gotten into knitting again[crazy]after thinking I'd never knit again a few years ago. I made so much when the grandkids were on the way.

So now I'm knitting fuzzy scarfs and the family loves them.
Anyway I hear that leg warmers sre back in style but not sure if they like them baggy or more fitted. I'm kind of making up a pair in navy with four rows of the fuzzy stuff at the ankle. It's a fitted pair, not so baggy and only from the ankle to below the knee.

Anyone have any patterns or have made any lately I'd love to see them or get a pattern.

Thank you I hope to be a part of this message board and I see I need to get a digital cam soon.

I think I saw a pattern in Last Minute Knitted Gifts that might work for you.

Anna, have you tried searching KR for the phrase Leg Warmers? (hristinac is our resident free-pattern-maniac and she may have posted a free pattern for them somewhere along the line. Or maybe do a web search for some. The ones Sandi mentioned are in the book Last Minute Knitted Gifts which, of course, you would have to purchase.

Another thing you might want to try here on KR is the Active Topics button. That way, you don't have to wade through all the topics on the site, you get only the ones that have been active since your last visit. Of course, if you don't visit often the way some of us do (two or three times a day for me...do I have a life? uh-uh), you'll probably get a huge list....

hope all that helps,
chris

Keep on knittin', mama, knittin' those blues away!

you can see 2 pairs of leg warmers i knit (for 'irish twins'(2 girls just 1 year difference in age)in my photogallery.

i used some LB alpaca from my stash, and did a quick swatch.
(for worsted weight yarn, and size 8 needles, i ended up with 40 stitches) you might need more or few stitches depending on your yarn/needles/gauge.)
i worked in 1 X1 ribbing (my personal favorite ribbing, but 2 X 2 would work (be sure to have a multiple of 4!) i worked in the round.. after 10 inches, i did 10 rows (still in ribbing, but the fun fur doesn't rib the way a real yarn will) and bound off. (ribbing makes sizing easier)

the girls love them.
