| Flat on my back on the couch, head propped up on a pillow, knitting on my chest. Talk about comfy... |

Can't say that I have tried knitting this way.

I just spent the whole weekend in exactly that position! I don't usually get to do that, but I was recovering from a nasty cold and had a DVR full of TV to catch up on. Talk about heaven...except for the being sick part, of course.

That's my usual position.......LOL. I do find that it helps to prop my elbows up on pillows but then I am unable to hold my arms up for any length of time. On the pillows, my hands are close enough together to knit without holding up my arms.

I'm another horizontal knitter - both on the sofa when I get the chance and just a few rows in bed before I go to sleep....

I just discovered this position this weekend...I'd been reading a novel while laying on the couch and decided to pick up the toddler hoodie I've been working on... and it worked out pretty well!

I should send this link to my mom - she thinks I am a big weirdo when I do this! Glad I'm not the only one!

I got in a very bad habbit of knitting while in bed, laying down with my back slightly propped on a pillow. Luckily I stopped knitting this way, bad to be in bed all afternoon!

I like knitting outside in the hammock. :D

Hmmm... I would like to try it but the critters think it's an invitation to come lay on mommy's chest. *Hrumph*

| I haven't tried it lying completely down, but like to stretch out on the couch or bed with my shoulders propped up a bit ... I guess "reclining" is the best way to describe it. especially when I'm using more than one ball of yarn since multiple balls of yarn will stay on my chest or the bed while I'm knitting instead of exploring under the couch or loveseat the way they do when I'm sitting up. |

Hi Kathy,
I have tried it, but its better than a sleeping pill for me, I just nod over and wake up in the morning with half the stitches off the needles and the wool wound around the bed and whatever else the cat has managed to do.
Although I do sit up in bed, watching TV and Knit and this works super well.
Knit in peace and harmony.

I knit in bed, but sitting mostly up. It's very comfy and very warm and cozy, especially when my little dog curls up on my thighs.

I did it a couple weeks ago when my back was killing me and I was lying on a heating pad. My arms got real tired. If it happens again I'll try Fran's trick with the pillows.
